About this guide

Guia Portugal is an independent, bilingual (English and European Portuguese) guide to Portugal.

Accuracy

We write only what we can source: World Heritage listings from UNESCO, tourism information from Visit Portugal and the operators and authorities linked on each page. We do not list prices or opening hours, because they change; we link to the people who publish them. If you spot a mistake, tell the site owner via the sister sites.

The map

The map uses municipal boundaries from the CAOP dataset (Direção-Geral do Território), simplified for the web. Regions are grouped by district, so borders are approximate and differ slightly from official tourism regions. Madeira and the Azores are shown in insets, not at their true positions.

The trip planner

It runs in your browser. It scores our curated places against your interests, packs them into your days using our own estimate of days per place, and orders them from your arrival airport by straight-line distance. It does not know roads, timetables or prices.

Privacy

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics in consent mode. Until you click “Allow analytics”, no analytics cookies are stored. Your trip plan is not sent anywhere; it lives in the page address if you share it. We use no advertising.
